In 2005 I made my first sand sculpture, never thinking this would become my real job..
For the last years I've been travelling around the world with sandy feet..
Creating sand sculptures is like a rollercoaster! and I love the ride.
From the moment of the first undefined pencilstripe, via being lost in the dark. Angry when it doesn't go according to plan. Towards flying in the sky, because for a split second, the sandy face you're making is looking back at you, alive.
All of this, results in love and hate for the job. Deadlines, flights, goals, eliminated senses of hunger and fatigue.. only the sculpture is what matters.
